With the third in a continuing series of radio spots (playing in selected markets, I'm told WQMR-FM out of Ocean City is carrying the commercials,) U.S. Senate candidate Eric Wargotz looks at health care.

While the cutest line in the 60-second spot is, "Washington's plan is about mandates and consequences, imposed by 16,000 new IRS agents. And the Internal Revenue Service is not known for having a compassionate bedside manner," Wargotz stays with the fairly standard Republican and conservative prescriptions for change: medical savings accounts, the opening up of the insurance market by allowing sale of policies across state lines, policy portability and tort reform.

Yet he makes no mention of what to do with the existing Obamacare plan until the very last line, where Eric vows to "repeal and reform." Obviously no repeal will take place with President Obama in office, so Wargotz has a couple years to tinker around the edges in the meantime.

Next up are radio spots on the economy and the environment. At the moment, Wargotz has the airwaves to himself in the Senate race as neither chief GOP competitor Jim Rutledge nor incumbent Sen. Barbara Mikulski has made any radio ads yet.

Local to the lower shore, the ads are running on WICO and WQMR.

Actually, heard him speak that if repeal isn't possible, then he will lead the fight to not fund the law once in office along with DeMint and others. A practical, pragmatic approach from a conservative fellow who is not a "tinkerer" but a guy who has proven to keep his word and work hard for us in my County.

I am undecided and am on the hunt for information about the candidates. I attend all debates. Where is Dr. Wargotz? He has not been seen at a debate since Montgomery County? I am sorry, a radio ad, which is scripted, does not give me a clue as to how he will function as my senator. Debate dodging could be a BIG RED FLAG of caution and warning...my fear is that he lacks substance on all other areas of concern. Health Care alone is not what Americans are up in arms about. There is a plethora of agenda items that he has to be strong on.

I don't blame him. I find the forums and debates worthless and no one seems to show up but the candidate's own cheerleaders. I went to some at the beginning and have friends who still go out of "obligation" to their club. BORING and not very helpful in sorting through the candidates. I met Wargotz at a Lincoln Day dinner on the same night some of my friends attended a "debate". I learned much about him from that experience and, and my friends at the debate felt it was a waste of time to be there. I just think Wargotz is smarter and more savvy than the others. I find the attacks by the Rut-rats appalling. I guess that's what happens to lead candidates.
My red flags are on the others

This comes from an interview Wargotz did with The Jewish Times on October 30, 2009. For the record, Wargotz is trying to sell himself to voters as a conservative and he is a moderate Republican at best. Wargotz is misleading the voters and mispresenting himself to the voters. And, yes I can provide you the full interview if you want to see it.

Dr. Wargotz did not hesitate to criticize both Democrats and rightwing Republicans. "I was very disappointed that President Obama stated that he wouldn't pay health care for illegal immigrants," he said, bucking the GOP stand.

The interview goes on to say these are the Senators that Wargotz admires/respects... " Some political role models, he said, include Connecticut's Sen. Joe Lieberman, once a leading Democrat and now an independent, who broke with his party over the Iraq War. Likewise, he admires Maine's Republican Sen. Olympia Snow, who is defying her party's blanket opposition to President Obama's health care initiatives..."

Yes, I know I can't spell but so what. You get my point. Clearly, from Mike's follow-up article, you cannot trust anything that came out in that "rag" . Wargotz is a fine man and a true, proven Conservative. His record proves that. Cut taxes twice (constant yield this year), increased government transparency, cut size of government. In addition, he helped save county taxpayers thousands of dollars in energy costs through tightening on service contracts and energy use - so don't give me/us any of that misleading mudslinging. Shame, shame, shame,
