For Disney guests who have wondered what it’s like to be a member in the Disney College Program, here’s a brief look at a none too serious cast member social event. It’s the Disney College Program’s “Night of Stars Talent Competition,” that was held at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney on April 21, 2010.
Disney Point – members Chris Coburn, Cory Edge, Joey Sioson – performed “Single Riders, (Got a Fast Pass)” a parody of Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” co-written by Molly Miller. They dedicated their performance to “all you who hate waiting in line.”
Lyrics include the refrain “If you like it you shoulda got a FASTPASS” and go on to celebrate the single rider line. From the crowd's reactions, captured on the video, it’s obvious the audience enjoyed the inside jokes and comedic performance.
Beyond the voyeuristic pleasure of watching cast members performing at a Disney College Program talent show, the video references two important strategies for Disney theme park touring.
Disney FASTPASS and single rider lines are two of the best ways, when available, to avoid waiting in line for popular Disney attraction. Plus, they are available to all Disney guests and not just knowledgeable cast members (even if cast members have the extra advantage of getting into the theme parks for free.)
More information on these strategies appear below, after The Disney Point YouTube video and excerpted lyrics.

Author notes: The Disney Point’s Facebook page offers the lyrics that are somewhat distorted by the audio quality and drowned out by the audience’s response. Another video version is available at WDWDailyNews.
An excerpt from "Single Riders (Got a Fast Pass)":
Up in the park
Just gettin' dark
Can't wait to ride some thangs
People wanna trip
Poke out dat lip
'cause they didn't choose the single rider lane
ain't wastin' time standing in line
Gonna get a seat that's mine
Gotta be quick
This ride is sick
No stand by line for me
Disney FASTPASS and single rider lines save time
As the “Single Riders (Got a Fast Pass)” lyrics suggest, guests should definitely take advantage of FASTPASS as it allows them to bypass the longer stand-by lines. This article on Disney FASTPASS covers how to use the free service offered by the theme parks.
Another way to avoid long waits in line at some of Disney’s most popular attractions is to take advantage of the advice implied in the title of the Beyoncé parody – wait in the single rider line. Just like its name implies, the line allows single riders to fill up available spots on rides, spots that are left open.
As with FASTPASS, the single-rider lines may operate seasonally. And occasionally the single riders lines operate a bit slowly, so guests should pay attention to how quickly the queue moves when they first enter. Gnerally, though, the lines operate quite efficiently because the single rider option allows Disney to operate its rides at maximum efficiency.
Single rider lines are available at the following Disneyland Resort attractions.
- Disneyland: Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye, Splash Mountain
- Disney’s California Adventure: California Screamin’, Grizzly River Run, Maliboomer, Mulholland Madness (to be renamed Goofy’s Sky School after the park’s expansion), Soarin’ Over California
Single rider lines are available at the following Walt Disney World Resort attractions.
- Epcot: Test Track
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Expedition Everest
Single rider lines are available at the following Hong Kong Disneyland Resort attraction.
- Space Mountain
Worth noting is that "true" single riders need not be the only Disney guests who can take advantage of the single rider line. Guests who don’t mind being temporarily split up when they ride an attraction can save quite a bit of time by taking advantage of the single rider lines, time that can be spent sharing other attractions together, enjoying a parade, lingering over a meal, or simply heading back to a hotel room for some relaxation.
When used strategies for Disney theme park touring, Disney FASTPASS and single rider lines – especially when combined with arriving early – may offer great fodder for the Disney Point’s parody, but they’re no joke. The two free services seriously save Disney guests time.
