An exhibition celebrating mixed-media artwork opens this Friday, March 19th at the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset. This national exhibition, Media Mix, was juried by Gretchen Keyworth, Director Emeritus and Chief Curator of Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, MA. Images were submitted for review from artists across the U.S. and the selected artists represent fourteen different states. Media Mix will be on view from March 19 through May 2, 2010 in the Art Center’s Bancroft Gallery. This Friday's opening reception will be held from 6-8 pm.
Several of the Boston area artists included in Media Mix are Jeanne Wiley and Ann Conte whose woven car will occupy the center of the gallery, Ron Mello of Middleboro will exhibit a frog on wheels constructed from ceramic, copper, brass and iron, and Diana Grygo of Quincy, also known as the “Lone Beader,” will be showing works in glass seed beads and acrylics.
