Meddlesome Catholic Church at it again

The Bishops of the Catholic Conference of Arizona are protesting a bill proposed by Arizona State Sen. Russell Pearce (R-Mesa) which would criminalize the presence of illegal aliens in Arizona. The measure would also require local police officers to determine an arrestee’s immigration status.

The new law would essentially eliminate the so-called ‘sanctuary’ policies for illegal aliens, in cities such as Tucson.

The Catholic bishops say that, if passed, illegal aliens will become more fearful of the police, making them more unlikely to report serious crimes within their communities. They are also worried this will mean that children who have come here illegally with their parents will also be deemed criminals, and forced to leave the country.

Why are the Bishops really opposed to this new law?

For many American Catholics, it has become obvious that the church will never take seriously the issue of children being victimized by child-raping priests. It has also became obvious that the church will never take true responsibility for the role the leaders of the church played in harboring those monsters. It is little wonder that so many now well-informed American Catholics refuse to ever return their children as well as their donations to the church.

The illegal aliens represent exactly what the Catholic Church needs right now...largely uneducated and devoted worshipers with jobs. The illegal aliens will be all-too happy to place their children in Catholic schools (largely funded by school vouchers).

If Congress ever grants amnesty to all illegal aliens, they will fill the now-darkened parishes throughout the U.S. Most of these people speak very little English and most lack even an elementary school education, they are much more likely to keep their mouths shut once the priests begin to have their way with their children. The shell game of shifting molesting priests around will begin again and the faithful will continue to fork-over ten percent of their wages to the church.

For the church, it is simply a matter of survival. Without the presence of tens of millions of Latin American immigrants, the American Catholic Church will be forced to close their doors for good.

Of course, Arizona is on the front lines of the current war being waged by the drug cartels and human smugglers against this country.

Arizona authorities believe there are at least 460,000 illegal aliens in the state.

Sen. Russell Pearce recently told the Associated Press: “The greatest threat to our neighborhoods is the illegal alien invasion.”

Similar versions of this bill has been passed before, by the Arizona legislature, only to be vetoed by former Gov. Janet Napolitano. However, Gov. Jan Brewer is much tougher on illegal immigration, and is expected to sign the bill.

If passed, Arizona would become the only state in the country to have such a measure in place.

Since the so-called "leadership" of the so-called "Holy [sic] Roman Catholic Church" has blood on its hands, what's a little more law breaking? God forbid that WOMEN ever get equal standing in this corrupt organization...they just might be inclined to protect children from this paternal pack of pedophiles! The "Pope" and his "fathers" wouldn't stand for that

The anti-Catholic bigot who wrote the original article, "Meddlesome Catholic Church at it again," made the following factual errors:

I don't know of anywhere where Catholic schools get vouchers from the government for their students.

Amnesty will not lead to more molestations. The Church paid billions of dollars in reparations by selling off property and took other steps to insure this never happens again.

Tithing (10% of salary donated to the Church) is not a practice in the Catholic Church. That is the Mormon Church.

The Catholic Church will not have to close if Amnesty is not granted.

As a Catholic, I am opposed to the Church's immigration policy, but let's not throw the baby out with the bath water.

I grew up Catholic is Los Angeles. I have to disagree with JIM FLYNN. If you criticize the Catholic Church, it does not make you a bigot. You should apologize to the author. He has a right to his views and intolerance is not a Catholic value. Also, I was taught about the 10% rule when I was in Catholic school, so you are wrong and he is right. You are also wrong about the Catholic church closing if AMNESTY is not passed. The Los Angeles Times had a recent article on a Catholic school in Wilmington being closed. The reason was the students nowadays are too poor to afford the tuition. This is a direct result of mass importation of poverty from MEXICO. If AMNESTY doesn't pass then you will have 30 million Catholic Mexicans perhaps leaving to Mexico because of our bad ecomomy. The dirty secret about the Catholic Church is it's support for mass illegal immigration to fill the pews and coffers. Note that it's not supporting mass illegal immigration from MUSLIM countries.

As a former Catholic I believe more people I know have left the church due to their position on illegal immigration than due to the priest molestation scandal. Cardinal Mahony and Villaraigosa should both be arrested and incarcerated for harboring/aiding and abetting illegal aliens. What a disgrace both men are to their position/office.

To those who defend the Church's position on illegal immigration I would urge them to read "The Vatican Exposed," by Paul Williams and also research the monies the Catholic Church receives from the federal government. Once they signed on they became an arm of the government - thus their reason for supporting a corrupt government. Notice how we never see Bishops, Cardinals, and Priests rallying around funerals supporting the families of the victims of those Americans murdered by illegal aliens?

The only honorable person in this article is the man who honors his oath of office and upholds our laws; i.e., Russell Pearce.

The Catholic Church teaches many principles, which is the opposite of tolerance. I learned about tithing (10%) too, but it was not a Catholic requirement. The whole Church will not close, just a few. If the students are too poor to pay tuition, how can their parents fill the coffers?

Criticizing the Catholic Church with facts does not make one a bigot, but lying about the Church and saying amnesty will provide more kids to molest is biggoted.
