MechWarrior Tactics revealed as a turn-based multiplayer game

MechWarrior Tactics was first teased last week and the full reveal arrived on Tuesday as free-to-play, turn-based multiplayer game featuring the giant mechs of the Battletech universe.

With MechWarrior Tactics, players can earn, collect and purchase weapons and equipment for the mechs in their own mercenary company to battle others online in asynchronous multiplayer combat.

True to its name, tactics will play a significant part of MechWarrior Tactics as players choose from the different custom mechs sitting in their hangar. Each mech fills a different role so you'll want to choose which ones you take into battle with you carefully.

No platforms were announced but the PC is an obvious choice. MechWarrior Tactics is scheduled to launch sometime in 2012. You can check out concept art for the mechs in our slideshow gallery.
