MechWarrior is an interesting game in which the in-game time coincides with real life time. In other words, 2013 is equivalent of 3050 in the game, when we hit January 1st 2014, MechWarrior online will reach January 1st 3051.
The game itself has little to do other than battle other players and upgrade gear. In battle, players get split into two teams of 8. These two teams engage in combat in enclosed battlefields. Winning these battles gives players C-Bill which is the in-game currency in MechWarrior Online.
There are different types of BattleMechs which serve different purposes. For example, a light BattleMech is good for speedy surveying of the battlefield and relaying that information to the team, whereas an assault BattleMech is a slow moving power house who’s movement across the battlefield is crucial because of the increased movement times.
MechWarrior Online is one of the best PC games to be released this past fall, and continues to please its audience. The game is still in open beta, and the “official” release date is unknown. If Piranha games ever decides on a date to officially publish the game, this page will be one of the first to reflect that new information.
