What to eat to prepare for running

If you run at least an hour, you will need to consume 6 grams of protein per pound of your weight. For example if you

weigh 150, you will need 90 grams of protein. It is not good to eat heavy meals before running. Spread meals

throughout the day before you are running.

You will build muscle as you add distance and increase intensity. To lose weight you increase protein intake and cut

calories. Your appetite will also decrease as you increase the protein. This is a personal opinion. This is what I have

experienced over the years of running. You may get quality protein from soy, whey, nuts and grains.

Lean and green meals are the best meals for runners. Try some fried cauliflower, steamed tomato and kale.
