It strengthens the immune system that is why the duration of the cold is shortened. By taking the vitamin con a regular basis my colds last for a few days without getting worse. I have taken it for the last three years. My family has a history of allergies. I have been battling the skin allergies for many years. Since the vitamin c in which I have been taking my allergies are finally under control. They have come close to the almost gone stage.
