Meat Week runs through Feb. 3, Fogo de Chao is a great place to celebrate

Meat Week is celebrated nationally, but it's an observance with Florida roots. It was started by two Tallahassee co-workers back in 2005, and this year it runs through February 3.

There are plenty of great restaurants that temp meat lovers in the Orlando attractions area, but one of the best is Fogo de Chao. Although this International Drive restaurant has a huge salad bar with premium offerings, its main focus is meat.

Fogo de Chao offers 15 different cuts of meats, cooked on skewers by Gaucho chefs and served right at your table. The meat is all you can eat, making this a perfect Meat Week celebration. You get a little disk that you place with the green side up if you want more meat. When you're ready to throw in the towel, flip it over to the red side.

Read the menu and decide on the specific meats you want to try. Otherwise, it's easy to grab a sample of everything that passes your table, which means you might be full long before you've tried everything.

If you've got someone in your party who isn't a big meat eater, don't worry. The Fogo de Chao salad bar is easily worthy of being a meal on its own. It's much more upscale than a typical buffet.
