Jerry lee Lewis has a new album coming out in late August or early September; it’s called Mean Old Man. It will be his first country album in over twenty years. Although Jerry Lee is remembered mainly for his early Rock and Roll hits on Sun Records, he also had fifty country hits with thirty of them landing in the top ten including a #1 country hit with Kris Kristofferson’s “Me and Bobby McGee.”
The title track on the new album is also written by Kris Kristofferson. If you can believe what you read in The Rolling Stone and the LA Times he wrote it for The Killers new album, that’s kind of hard to swallow since Kris recorded "Mean Old Man" himself in 1986 on his Repossessed album.
Some of the artist that appeared on Last Man Standing like Eric Clapton, John Fogerty, Kid Rock and Merle Haggard will also appear on Mean Old Man.
Mean Old Man was originally released as an EP on CD last year, the complete album Mean Old Man is now expanded to a 10-song edition and a special 18-track CD.
It is produced by Steve Bing and one of the best drummer’s in rock history, Jim Keltner who has worked with Eric Clapton, Steely Dan, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Brian Wilson, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty and Lucinda Williams among many others. It was recorded here in Memphis and in LA.
Jerry Lee Lewis was a standout this past spring at Memphis in May and performed to a large audience despite bad weather. Look for this Mean Old Man to prove why he is still standing.

This sounds amazing! I will definitely have to pick this up It is astonishing to me that Jerry Lee has survived all these years, much less continued to perform and make music.
