Atlanta fashionistas, McQ by the fashion house of Alexander McQueen presented its fashion show at London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2012 on February 20, 2012 in London, England.
Flared lace frocks were the order of the day, with models sporting curious doughnut hairstyles accessorizing with leather gloves up to the elbows – the mood, definitely 1950’s.
The flared skirts were also extended to coats, such as the voluminous navy plaid number, belted by thick leather belts with hardware and chain attachments.
A definite favorite is the lace embellished burgundy tulip skirt, teamed with a dark burgundy fur top and burgundy leather elbow-length gloves. The same chunky leather belt with chain attachment is used as an accessory, paired with the ankle strap pumps that feature throughout the collection. And of course the doughnut hair! (are you game?)
What looked like black laced-up thigh-high suede boots were also featured with several outfits. They probably have a zippered closed on the back so that your can keep your sanity…
For their menswear range in the McQ Fall 2012 collection, the Alexander McQueen fashion house is featuring distinct military styling, such as the olive drag ensemble with fatigue pants, bomber jacket and trench coat with black fur collar. Yes, the male model wore combat boots!
Another male model donned an olive wool and leather bomber jacket with grey pants and combat boots and matching black leather gloves – you can draw your own conclusions from that one…
