McEwen, Schultz, Soule, and Grover earn NAC weekly honors

Pat McEwen pitched a four hit shutout in leading the Husson university Eagles to a 3-0 victory over New England college in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday.

That performance earned McEwen North Atlantic Conference (NAC) baseball pitcher of the week.

McEwen walked one, struck out five, and only needed 74 pitches to get through the complete game masterpiece.

The Eagles finished the week with a 5-1 record. They took three out four against New England college and swept UMF in a doubleheader.

Anree Benitez from Thomas college earned conference player of the week.

Benitez hit 10-15 (.667) during the week.

Sami Schultz from Husson earned softball player of the week in the NAC.

Schultz went 6-11 (.545) in leading the Eagles to a 4-0 week. Schultz hit a walkoff double in a victory over Maine Maritime academy.

Emily Soule, from UMF earned conference pitcher of the week.

Soule threw back to back complete games in leading the Beavers to a sweep over New England College.

UMF freshman Kennadi Grover went 5-7, including two homer runs and five RBI in her first day as a college player. That performance earned Grover conference rookie of the week.
