If you have kids, you probably often find yourself at McDonald's, but soon you will have to eat the regular fast food fare that the kids eat. According to Reuters on March 1, McDonald's is dropping most of the more adult menu choices in order to better compete with Wendy's and Burger King.
The fruit and walnut salad is being discontinued along with the Chicken Selects, the more sophisticated chicken sandwich. Believe it or not, the premium Angus burgers are being considered for extinction, too.
According to Reuters, the idea is to be able to have somewhat of a constantly changing menu with new items to try more often like their competitors. McDonald’s is losing some of its previous market lead over Wendy’s and Burger King; their sales have been down around the world.
Moms who enjoy the light and refreshing fruit and walnut salad while taking their family to McDonald’s will have to find a new choice. Maybe one of the new items to be introduced will be an adequate replacement. And, there will still be other salads on the menu.
