But why brave the snowstorm when you can stay in your pajamas and not have to pause Breaking Bad and talk to people in order to enjoy McDonald's Holiday Pies. Here's a recipe spreading across the net originating from Dame Good, a baking blogger in Ohio.
Makes 8 McDonald’s Holiday Pies
You’ll need the following ingredients:
For the Centers:
2 cups low fat milk
1 ounce sugar-free and fat-free instant vanilla pudding
Quarter cup of yellow cake mix
Third of a cup of sprinkles
For the Cake Part:
1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon sea salt
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Preheat oven to 375F.
Freeze oil in a small bowl for 30 minutes.
Mix the flours, salt and sugar in a medium bowl and freeze for 30 minutes also.
Stir the oil into the flour and mix until crumbly.
Then add the ¾ cup of water to the dough.
In a medium-sized bowl stir together pudding mix and milk until thickened.
Add the cake mix afterwards as well as sprinkles and stir.
Roll out the dough thinly as possible.
Cut into 2’ x 4’ rectangles.
Spoon Filling into center, leaving about ¼ of an inch border. Brush with a beaten egg along the bare edges.
Place another rectangle on top and press edges together with fork.
Cut a small slit on top of each pie that reaches to the center.
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until pasty mcdonald’s blonde color.
