McDonald's Fish McBites will soon be offered inside Happy Meals according to an article at Fox News. The fast-food giant announced last month, that Fish McBites would be added to their menu, but now the company says the entree will be the first new Happy Meal offering in a decade.
Fish McBites are fried pieces of fish, and McDonald's says they will be using, Alaska Pollock, the same fish used in the Filet-O-Fish, for the bite-sized fish pieces. McDonald's Fish McBites Happy Meal will include a seven piece Fish McBites, French fries, apple slices and a drink. The restaurant says they will offer the new Fish McBites Happy Meal starting this week through March, to coincide with Lent.
One of the reason for Fish McBites being the new Happy Meal addition is because research showed moms wanted more seafood entrees on the menu. Fish McBites will be offered temporarily, but Brian Irwin, director of marketing for McDonald's USA, said the company might bring them back periodically if they perform well.
Parents can enjoy the "fun, poppable" aspect of McDonald's newest entree as well; Fish McBites will be sold in three sizes — snack (10 pieces), regular (15 pieces) and shareable (30 pieces).
