There will be no good reason to feel tired on Monday, March 31.

McDonald’s and Dunkin’ Donuts will both give away free coffee to customers that want a cup of joe.

Dunkin’ Donuts will offer customers a free 16-ounce iced coffee on March 31 at all participating locations in North Carolina. A coupon is not required to redeem the iced coffee.

Meanwhile, the fast-food breakfast competition continues to intensify between McDonald’s and Taco Bell after Taco Bell entered the ring this past week with the unveiling of its breakfast menu that includes the Waffle Taco and A.M. Crunchwrap.

McDonald’s is fighting back in the latest round of the breakfast wars, and will offer customers two weeks of free coffee nationwide from March 31 until April 13.

Beginning on March 31 and lasting until April 13, all participating McDonald’s in the Triangle and Sandhills area will be able to receive a complimentary, small McCafe coffee during breakfast hours. After breakfast hours, customers can receive a complimentary, small McCafe iced coffee.

McDonald’s free coffee event has been widely regarded as a response to Taco Bell’s latest ad campaign featuring a collection of people named Ronald McDonald proclaiming their love for Taco Bell’s new breakfast menu. The nationwide free coffee away is the first in McDonald’s history.
