I’m a McDaniel College alum, and I could tell you many, many stories that were originally told at brunch in GLAR (Englar Dining Hall). I’ll spare you those, but let you know that McDaniel College is hosting Sunday brunches on February 10, March 10, April 14 and May 12 from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Cost is $12 per person (or $7.75 per person without an alcoholic beverage), which includes live music and brunch buffet. (And, I should note that there was never alcohol or music when we went to brunch.)
McDaniel began offering Sunday brunches as a way to invite the public to campus and explore what is happening “on the hill.” Englar Dining Hall’s award-winning renovation, completed in Spring 2011 (years after I graduated), included new flooring, raised ceilings to maximize natural lighting, energy-efficient lighting, electronic menu boards, new seating areas, a consolidated beverage line, and built-in pantry for cereal and desserts. The Associated Builders and Contractors recognized the renovation of the dining hall with the Award of Excellence and Project of the Year in 2012.
