All work and no play make Peter and Polly Pagan a dull person, so the folks at Michigan Council of Circles and Solitaires are starting the first in a monthly series of Pagan Movie Nights this Saturday, March 8, 2014, from 8:00 pm until 11:00 pm. This weekend's movie is The Craft. A true cult classic, watch as Nancy spirals into, and eventually, out of control when trying to handle teenage angst, growing magical powers, and the price of ego. The event is going to be held at The Smokey Crystal in Woodhaven.
Donations of $2 per person are suggested, not for the movie, but for the space itself. This is primarily a chance to get together and fellowship while raising money for MCCS. Snacks like popcorn, chips, and water will be available on a donation basis, and seating capacity is 25.
Now, the thing about community is, it is all about being there together in spaces that are positive and freeing. In that Spirit, this writer is encouraging all who attend to make this a real happening by making it a Cosplay affair. What does this mean? This means dressing up as your favorite characters from the film. It should make for great memories and photos.
If you are still a little nervous, or have not done this before, please refer to How to Cosplay. Just remember, no daggers or sharp pointy things in public places. Not only is it bad etiquette, it is not lawful. Besides, who wants to take their Athame out for show and tell?
The Smokey Crystal is located at 22097 West Rd, not far from the freeway. As this is a time sensitive event, please plan to arrive a little early to accommodate any traffic delays by our quickly transforming road conditions. One never knows what one may encounter at any crossroads, wink wink.
Bring a friend and share the fun of this slightly scary, very fun, Hollywood take on the Ways of the Wise. Don't be afraid, after all, "It's only Magic!"
Merry Meet, Merry Part, and Merry Meet Again.
