In the final regular season and home game of the year, the Drexel Dragons (13-17, 9-9 CAA) defeated the UNC Wilmington Seahawks on Saturday night. On a night where Drexel fans honored the seniors, senior forward Daryl McCoy had a monster night with a 13-point, 17-rebound double-double. Fellow senior Derrick Thomas had 11 points and sophomore guard Damion Lee also finished in double-figures with 12.
Junior forward Dartaye Ruffin had eight points and 14 rebounds while fellow classmate Frantz Massenat scored nine points and dished out three assists.
The Dragons are now off for a week and will prepare for the CAA Tournament in Richmond, Virginia next weekend. Drexel will be the number-five seed and will take on the fourth-seeded George Mason Patriots in the quarterfinals on Saturday March 9th. If Drexel wins, the Dragons will face the number-one seeded Northeastern Huskies in the semi-finals.
