Just announced: Paul McCartney will do a special live 20 minute webchat tomorrow (May 20) from his studio in Sussex where he and the band are preparing for upcoming shows in Mexico City before comes to the UK and Ireland in June for five shows, concluding with the Hard Rock Calling Festival June 27. He'll perform two additional shows in the U.S. in San Francisco and Salt Lake City in July.
The chat will take place at 5 p.m. GMT (corrected again: that's 6 p.m. London time, 1 p.m. Eastern time, 10 a.m. Pacific Time. There is no DST in GMT, but there is in the other zones) at http://www.ustream.tv/paulmccartney.
He'll answer questions during the live broadcast. The winner of the contest on his official website for tickets to the May 28 Folo Sol Mexico City show will also be announced.

what bad timing that is the time we have to buy tickets for the shows in san francisco and salt lake!!!!!!
And as one friend pointed out to me, it is also during the workday for many and he will have people risking their jobs. Not many allow personal internet viewing on company time and computers.
Celebs don't realize how real life is sometimes.
The timing is always going to be off for some people depending on which time zone you live in. Would it be better if the European fans missed out? Plus Paul lives in the UK so..
I am pretty sure the times he has listed here are wrong...but Eastern Time zone in the US is 5 hours behind London, so that would make it 12 noon, and Pacific time is 8 hours behind London and would that would be 9am and Moutain Standard time in Salt Lake City would be 7 hours behind London with show at 10 am. Unless I am missing something??
I can spell...so please pay no attention to typing errors on previous post! Sorry!
I don't know what crazy drug you guys are on but 5 p.m. GMT is 9 a.m. PST and 12 p.m. ET.
@Lynne: well done, simultaneous comment ;D
Did you catch this sentence in the official announcement on PM.com? "you can do it from your desk at work..."
Um Paul, if people get fired for logging on at their work, will you support them until they get a new job? Get real! A lot of work computers are blocked from even going near a site like that!
Actually it's at 1 PM eastern as you have to look at GMT not British summer time (BST); I checked that with a world clock website this afternoon.
Perhaps the chat will be archived somewhere for a while so we can watch it after we get home from work or finish hunting for tickets to his shows! Yes, Paul does forget what working people actually do all day....
Melody: OK, this is confusing. I initially checked the time with the converter, changed it after the comments (bad move, since it was right initially) then re-checked it with a different converter, which came out to what I had initially. The chat is at 5 p.m. GMT, which is 6 p.m. London time, 1 p.m. ET and 10 a.m. PT. There is no daylight saving time in GMT, but there is in the other three zones, which is why it's an hour later at 6 p.m. London time. Confusing, I know.
I was correcting Leo, not you Steve, you had it right. GMT doesn't change; other places change (or don't change, like Arizona). Curenntly London is GMT + 1 because it is British Summer Time.
So if it is 5 pm GMT, on Brit. Summer TIme it is 6:00. On Daylight Savings Time in NYC it would be 1:00 p.m., in LA and SF 10 a.m.
It's Noon EST. If you watch the new rehearsal footage on Paul's official website he says the chat is on at 5 PM English time and 9AM PST. 8 hours difference, as usual. This GMT+1 thing is just semantics and people are making it way more complicated than it is.
This is actually taking place now, so it should be 4pm GMT, not 5pm. The UK is in BST now - McCartney's people must have got confused.
It was 4pm GMT. I knew they probably just assumed GMT means summer time (BST) too!
Anyway that was very sweet but way too short.
i don't know what's wrong with you guys...
I don't know what's wrong with Paul's team to say that the chat was at 5 GMT when they really should have said 5:00 BST. Well, at least it is archived.
Got something to say?
