Movie fans are waiting to see Cory Monteith's final film work, and now they are getting a small glimpse at his last film. On Tuesday, Aug. 13, Hypable shared the first photo from the film "McCanick." The photo features Cory Monteith in his role as Simon Weeks. Check out the photo on the sidebar.
In "McCanick," Cory Monteith took on the role of a drug addict. The character will deal with big problems after his release from prison. The film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
Another film that Monteith finished before his death last month is also scheduled for release at the event. That film is titled "All The Wrong Reasons." For that film, Monteith took on the role of a department store manager. Exact times for their premieres have not been released yet.
Josh Waller, the director of "McCanick," spoke about working with Monteith on the project and the actor's own problems with drug addiction. He said the following, according to Wetpaint Entertainment on Tuesday:
"He had expressed that he was kind of going through a rough time, but that he was feeling better about it, and then when I saw him at the screening, he wrote me a really sweet email. He was very vocal about his past, and said he wanted to tap into things from his youth that he hadn't been able to use as an actor yet."
Cory Monteith died on July 13. He was set to begin production the next season of "Glee." The series will handle his character's exit during episode three of the upcoming season on Fox.
Scottsdale residents will be able to see this film at the Harkins Scottsdale Fashion Square 7 or at another local theater in the area once it is released.
