Sen. John McCain claims that a "massive cover-up" might be taking place about the Benghazi attack. The claim of a massive cover-up is certainly causing a lot of buzz on the internet, especially because the senator is once again questioning the actions of President Barack Obama. According to a report from Sunday (Feb. 17), McCain was referring to the lack of information that the White House has released from the incident.
McCain is reported to have stated, "There are so many answers we don't know. We've had two movies about getting bin Laden and we don't even know who the people were who were evacuated from the consulate the day after the [Benghazi] attack. So there are many, many questions. So we've had a massive cover-up on the part of the administration."
McCain didn't really mince words in his comments, as he didn't even use the word allegedly when accusing the current administration of conducting a cover-up. McCain was talking on "Meet the Press" when he made the comments Sunday, but this won't be the last time that a reporter asks for a sound bite from the senator as the controversy continues to grow.
When pressed for more explanation by David Gregory, McCain went on to state, "I'm asking you, do you care whether four Americans died? And shouldn't people be held accountable for the fact that four Americans died?" On a weekend when not a lot of press is covering politics, these comments are certainly going to be water cooler talk on Monday (Feb. 18) or Tuesday (Feb. 19).
Senator John McCain claims a massive cover-up has taken place and there are probably Americans that agree with him.
