MCC-Maple Woods presents Transcending Tragedy: The Story of the Arts of the Holocaust

Metropolitan Community College - Maple Woods will present its seventh annual celebration of the arts of the Holocaust on Tuesday, April 27.  Each year has focused on different artistic themes associated with the Holocaust.

This year's program features:

  • professional chamber musicians performing works composed by concentration camp prisoners
  • Park Hill South German language students who will speak about why it is important to remember the Holocaust
  • Maple Woods Community College choir performing works associated with the Holocaust
  • poetry by creative writing students at Maple Woods Community College

The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the Student Center, Room 132.  It is free and open to the public and suitable for children ages 13 and over.  A reception will follow the program. 

The college is located at 2601 Northeast Barry Road in Kansas City, MO.
