CNN has reported that MC Hammer was arrested in California on Thursday for the alleged obstruction of a police officer.
Hammer, real name Stanley Kirk Burrell, Tweeted Saturday that he was sitting in his car outside an Oakland shopping center, when he was approached by an officer. Hammer's Tweets are below:

Dublin police Lt. Herb Walters told CNN that Hammer was in a vehicle with an expired registration and he was not the registered owner of the vehicle. "After asking Hammer who the registered owner was he became very argumentative and refused to answer the officer's questions."
Hammer was booked and released on bail with a court date due in March.
