MC Hammer arrest: Rap star claims racial profiling, takes to Twitter post arrest

The MC Hammer arrest has fans of the rapper and the public at large talking this week, as Yahoo! News reported this Saturday, Feb. 23, that MC Hammer has hinted he may have been a victim of racial profiling in his recent arrest in Dublin, Calif.

The 1990s rap star took to Twitter on Saturday that a police officer pulled him over in his car, immediately asking, “Are you on parole or probation?”

MC Hammer said that as he gave the officer his ID, the officer reached inside the vehicle and suddenly tried pulling him out.

A Dublic police Lt. added in a statement that the arrest took place on Thursday in the case of investigation of obstructing a police officer while performing his duties, as well as resisting a law official. The officer did not comment on MC Hammer’s own side of the story.

MC Hammer tweeted this evening that he isn’t bitter about getting arrested and finds it to be a “teachable moment.”
