MBFW: Reem Acra Fall 2013 Runway Show Inspired by Travels to Japan (Photos)

Inspired by recent travels to Japan, the Reem Acra Fall 2013 runway show, held at the Lincoln Center in NYC as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, was an eclectic mix of abstract shapes and volumes.

Traditional kimonos, goat hair capes, tulle ball gowns, and leather pants, graced the catwalk in blacks, whites, creams, and bold strokes of red.

Pieces were detailed with embroidery, fur, lace, beads, and mesh. Thigh-high stockings completed many of the looks, including dresses and skirts.

Following in theme with Japanese-inspired styles, large poncho-type and cape-like wraps, resembled the customary kimono, and complemented a number of styles.
