MBFW: Beautiful, Wearable Autumn/Winter Collection by Ann Yee (Photos)

Comfortable yet chic, relaxed yet refined – Ann Yee’s Autumn/Winter 2013 collection is what every woman wants. As part of this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Ann Yee debuted her beautiful collection at GO Studios Penthouse in NYC.

The collection included knits in various shapes sizes and cuts. A two-toned white sweater was paired with a short maroon skirt, and black beanie. An oversized grey sweater was styled over a collared shirt with beige silk pants. An ankle length neon-yellow sweater dress was paired with short black ankle boots.

Designer Ann Yee commented that the collection was inspired by “Appalachia and Black Mountain College,” where many creative minds attended. Yee incorporated her own personal style into her collection, which she described as “Relaxed and layered. I like to feel comfortable, and try to infuse that into the collection.”

The theme of “comfortable,” is very apparent in the collection, but in an effortless sort of way. If you look closely, pieces are polished with fine details.

80% of the collection is made in NYC, and Yee aims to continue producing in the country in which she works and lives. When asked what inspires her, Lee commented, “The city, living here, it’s inspiring anywhere you go.”

So what can we expect from Ann Yee in the future? She would love to explore the world of accessories, or a shoe collaboration.
