This season, Italian design team Salvatore Prete and Filippo Bruno, debuted their Fall 2012 collection in the United States at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW), Monday, Feb. 13 at Lincoln Center.
Bruno comments the Fall 2012 Prete & Bruno collection was inspired by, “French style, Hollywood Glamour, Grace Kelly, and Marlene Dietrich.” The Collection is the epitome of high-end ready to wear couture, offering a variety of styles such as dresses, fitted trench coats, and French-inspired pants that end just below the knee.
Prete & Bruno’s Fall 2012 collection plays homage to style icons inner beauty with ladylike silhouettes in emerald greens and rich gold tones, complimented by classic black. From plush velvets to chic tweeds, each piece is elegantly created and accented with gold sequins and feathers.
When asked what prompted the designers to debut their Fall 2012 Collection in NYC rather than their home country in Europe, Bruno answered, “New York is important for our inspiration.” The designers split their time between their showroom in NYC and their showroom in Italy.
As successful young designers with an impressive MBFW debut, Bruno offers a piece of advice to aspiring designers –“Just believe in yourself.”
