Alon Livne, the most prestigious young fashion designer in the Middle East, showcased his Winter 2013 collection at this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Alon trained at Alexander McQueen, and was appointed to eveningwear and couture division for designer Roberto Cavalli.
This year’s Winter 2013 collection was inspired by the concept of a beautifully bleak post-apocalyptic world, as described in the writings of British author J.G. Ballard. The collection included evening dresses, and tailored separates.
Following in theme, all pieces were black in color, and adorned with 3-D, leather, and crystal details. Geometric shapes and cutouts were common within the designs, giving the collection an edgy, modern feel. Many of the looks were completed with black headpieces – one of which was creatively attached to the torso.
