Saturday morning, Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum told the media in a midnight conference call that Manny Pacquiao agreed to the 14-day drug testing cutoff and that he believed the issues to be "resolved." But no word had been heard from the Mayweather camp. Arum said that the negotiations with Floyd Mayweather were handled "strictly through" HBO's president of Sports, Ross Greenburg, who acted as a mediator for the possible November 13 fight. A fight that would be the biggest boxing fight of the year.

Arum’s conference with the media call took place at midnight Pacific Time Friday or 3 am Eastern on Saturday morning. The deadline to sign a deal was Friday, July 16.

Mayweather’s camp has yet to say anything about the deal, and a contract hasn’t been signed.

Saturday morning, Arum said: "The deadline is the end of the exclusivity period, because, we now have to go out and secure an opponent for Manny Pacquiao, assuming that it won't be Floyd. We have to go out and mount a campaign. We have to deal with the television networks, and get everything in order."

"Time is going by and we have to start scheduling press conferences," said Arum. "Because in Manny Pacquiao, I'm not dealing with the normal kind of fighter. He's over in the Philippines, first of all, and, second of all, he has his duties -- which he takes very seriously -- as a congressman in the Philippines."

Several months ago Arum had said that if Mayweather didn’t sign by midnight on July 16, then Pacquiao would attempt a deal with Miguel Cotto, or Antonio Margarito.

Saturday, Arum said that he will begin to negotiate with Cotto and Margarito, and said that he would like to have a deal wrapped in the next 10 days. But he added that during that time they would still be open to a deal with Mayweather.

"People have asked me if this means that the negotiations for a Floyd Mayweather fight are dead. And even though Mayweather hasn't responded by the deadline, my answer is a simple one. It's dead when we conclude a deal with an opponent for Manny's fight in November," said Arum. He added that after that he would try for a May 2011 Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.

"And then, we're contractually bound to do that fight, and we would look hopefully to do a fight with Floyd next year," said Arum. "But if, in the interim, while this was going on, Floyd suddenly emerged and said 'Yes,' he wanted to do the fight, then there would be nothing opposed to getting together and doing the fight."

The fight would appear internationally on HBO for boxing fans around the world.  Diana Gonzalez from Salt Lake City said: "It's a shame. This would have been a great fight. Not just the biggest fight of the year, but perhaps the decade. These two need to get beyond their disagreements come to an agreement soon. But now it looks like it will be at least next year."
