A raucous weigh-in at the Las Vegas MGM Grand on Friday makes it appear Saturday's fight between Floyd "Money" Mayweather and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will certainly be a wild event.
Each fighter made the catch-weight of 152 pounds. Alvarez weighed in right on target and Mayweather weighed in at 150 1/2 pounds, as 12,000 excited fans watched the brief and dramatic ceremony. Alvarez is 23 years old with a record of 42-0-1 with 30 knockouts. Jimmy Lennon Jr. Mayweather is 36 years old with a record of 44-0 with 26 knockouts.
ESPN has reported, "Mayweather, Alvarez go face to face." Saturday nights fight between Mayweather and Alvarez is one of the biggest showdowns in recent years. Alvarez, who has been a full-fledged junior middleweight for more than three years now, seems confident of a win. But Mayweather, who also appears unusually confident of a win in this fight has said, "There's a thousand different ways I can beat a guy."
