Mayweather discusses Pacquiao fight on national tv (Photos)

Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr (43-0) will fight Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (31-1-1) for the WBC welterweight belt on May 4 in Las Vegas. On Saturday, the undefeated boxer brought up the familiar topic of Manny Pacquiao during a nationally televised interview.

On April 6, Mayweather attended the NCAA Men's Final Four game between the Michigan Wolverines and the Syracuse Orange in Atlanta, Georgia. In an interview with CBS Sports (which owns Showtime), Mayweather said he believes Manny Pacquiao has to first reach his boxing level before earning an opportunity to face him in the ring.

Mayweather, 36, also suggested that he is the superior fighter given that Pacquiao lost both of his fights in 2012:

My dad totally believes that the less you get hit the longer you last in the sport, and I’ve been able to last 17 years, which is a great thing . . . . Manny Pacquiao has a lot of hurdles to get to Floyd Mayweather Jr. He just got two back to back losses. I tried to make the fight happen. The only thing I was asking for was random blood and urine testing just to show the world that the sport of boxing is a clean sport.

In case you missed it, here's the first episode of "30 Days in May" featuring Floyd Mayweather, which aired last week on Showtime:

  5. Part 5

The Las Vegas resident stated that he'll fight for 30 months before retiring permanently from boxing. Mayweather's fight with Guerrero will take place during the Cinco de Mayo weekend. It will be broadcast live on Showtime pay-per-view.

I feel good. I’ve been off a year now. I want to go out there and give fans what they want to see. Robert Guerrero, he’s a solid, solid tough competitor. He’s from the Bay Area in California. He’s a very, very busy fighter. He’s strong, he’s solid. We’ll just see what he brings to the table on May 4th. We don’t know [how he’ll fight Guerrero].
