Floyd Mayweather (45-0, 26 KOs)) was simply unstoppable in his win over Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-1-1, 30 KOs) last night at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The featured light middleweight bout was televised live on Showtime Pay-Per-View.
A frustrated Canelo had little success landing any shots on Mayweather who dodged just about any punch thrown his way.
The younger Canelo did his best, but Mayweather was just to quick. Mayweather found his range early and worked his jab, racking up points at will.
Movement was the key for Mayweather, a strong and Crafty Canelo spent a lot of energy trying to connect, but the angles Mayweather displayed left no room Canelo land any clean shots.
The judges, Dave Moretti scored the bout 116-112 Mayweather, Craig Metcalfe had a score 117-111 in favor of Mayweather, and in a surprising score, C.J. Ross had it even at 114-114.
It was a nice payday for both fighters, Mayweather received a record $41.5 million, and Canelo walks away with a cool $12 million according to Boxrec.
