The big fight was last night and it was very hard to watch. Mayweather beat Mosley and made it look too easy. Mosley, to his credit did hurt Mayweather in the 2nd round, but then it looked like he gave up and quit trying to lose the next 10 round convincingly. We have seen 1000's of boxing matches, but never before have we seen one where the two guys fighting seemed liked they didn't want to hurt each other. Please let me explain.
After Mosley hurt Mayweather, he made a small attempt to finish him, and then he quit being aggressive and stopped trying to hurt Floyd again. At the start of every round they touched gloves and at the end of every round they touched gloves and sometimes during the round they touched gloves, often several times. It was as it it was a sparring match and neither one wanted to hurt the other guy and if they accidentally did hurt the other fighter, they stopped and touched gloves as if to say "sorry" and then kept sparring.
Mosley's corner told him to wake it, and get fighting, but he didn't. Even at the end of the fight he stood there smiling and waiting to hug Mayweather and congratulate him and hug him again. We think he was so happy for the big payday and had no intention of trying to win.
Now a brief note to all the Floyd lovers out there. He did look good and he didn't run away, he didn't have to. Mosley wasn't trying to hurt him and so he could be aggressive, when he wanted and hit Mosley anytime he wanted. We guess he is really the greatest fighter in the World and so much greater than Mosley and anyone else, he can just coast and win. What a great, great fighter. Not!
In the post fight interview, Mayweather made it perfectly clear he would not fight Pacquiao without Pacman doing the insane blood testing he demands. Even though Larry Merchant told him again and again the Pacquiao was willing to do what the boxing commission wanted, not what he demanded. Floyd insisted on being the "burger king" and having it his way. If Pacman won't play by his rules, he won't fight him. Never mind that the best boxing commission in the World says he doesn't have to follow those rules. Floyd knows best and knows it is best for him to not fight Pacquiao and lose.
So all you Mayweather lovers can have a party and tell us what fools we are for thinking that the real greatest fighter in the World can beat their boy. Guess we will never know because it is obvious Floyd won't take the fight.
