The announcement is official, Mayor of Atlanta, Kasim Reed will seek reelection. The announcement came directly from Mayor Reed at the conclusion of his fourth State of the city address. On Wednesday, February 13, 2013, the mayor outlined his plans for the future of Atlanta. He silence the crowd for only a moment, when he said, ‘You know the president is visiting Atlanta tomorrow.’ The audience listened as the mayor eluded to, that he had made a decision after giving it much thought and consideration regarding his future plans.
The crowd was inaudible and hyperventilating with eyes directly on Mayor Reed at the podium. The crowd at the downtown Atlanta Marriott Marquis were focused on the lips and words of the mayor. You could hear a pin drop in the audience. Mayor Reed laughed and acknowledged that he would seek reelection. The audience broke into cheers, laughter and applauds. Mayor Reed is loved and respected by many in the city of Atlanta.

It has been speculation and rumor on the streets that the mayor was headed to Washington D.C., after President Obama’s reelection to a second term. Atlanta is home for Mayor Reed and he has greatly improved the imagine of the city as mayor. He has a great vision for the future of Atlanta. During his second term he has vowed to accomplish more for the city of Atlanta.
President Obama gave his State of the Union Address on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Mayor Reed gave his State of the city address the following day. Coincidence, perfect timing, February was the only time, compatibility or just two great American leaders with homogeneous analytical capabilities.
