Mayor Nutter sent out an ethics pledge for City employees to read and sign this week. He bragged about it this past weekend on KYW 1060, saying that it was a pledge every City employee had to sign regarding nepotism and conduct.
First of all, say what you will about useless City employees (`cause we'll say a lot!), but how is it the fault of some bean counter in the Department of Useless that this City is unethical, crooked and corrupt? How is it some data entry person's fault that Renee Tartaglione not only violated the City Charter but would come to her City job hungover and in the same clothes she wore the day before because her Mommy Marge is a City Commissioner?
Stupid ass Democrats.
Nutter is acting as if the ne'er-do-wells and lowly City employees are at fault. Why isn't he sending a pledge to City Council urging them to get rid of DROP? Oh, that's right, as he told Fox 29 last week, he "already said his piece" and doesn't want to piss anyone off that is donating to his re-election campaign or, worse yet, he doesn't want to get 'Primary-ed' in May.
If Mayor Nutter is a joke, which he is, than this new "ethics pledge" is the punchline, which it is. City Council and the public sector Unions strangling this town are the ones who violate all sorts of laws and get slaps on their wrists, or nothing at all. Don't punish the people who actually try to do whatever-it-is they're supposed to be doing and don't have any general effect on the outcome of where money is going in this City.
Why would any one who wants to commit the crimes that already they commit on a daily basis in City Hall sign a paper, any way? The last time we checked, nobody in this City has any respect for the biggest piece of paper of all - the one down on 5th Street.. otherwise known the Constitution.
It's been said here before and it will be continue to be said. Philly is not the City of "kindly worded letters", so stop trying to act that way. Mayor Nutter is the political equivalent of a Vienna Boys Choir eunuch: that's right, he doesn't have any balls. Go forth with your stupid ethics pledge and see that things will get worse before they ever resemble getting better.
