Thousands Upon Thousands Fax Their Resumes to Capitol Hill for a Week Long Plea for a Tier 5 Extension.
Today is day seven in the Tier 5 to Survive MAYDAY SOS FAX ATTACK on Washington set to end this Friday at midnight EST. Many unemployed have been bombarding the legislature everyday since April 30th by fax, email and sending resumes and their personal stories of hardship to Washington. It is important to let them know we are American's and we will stand together. To date it is hard to see what progress is being made by this campaign, but by this Friday Arthur Delaney, a reporter for the Huffington Post will appear on Jobless Talk (a Radio show on BlogtalkRadio) to report his findings. Arthur has been busy contacting Washington staffers to get their impressions of the fax attack, if any.

If you are unemployed this is an important issue for you to support. We the People must be heard and our Government cannot ignore us forever. Already unemployment related suicides and crime is rising in our country and without a tier 5 to help jobless Americans pay for the basic necessities, we could very well see something like the Greece riots happen in this country very soon if Capitol Hill continues to turn a blind eye and deaf ear on the long term unemployed.

Participants are encouraged to include with their resumes a paragraph that explains the hardships they are enduring not that their benefits have run out.
I will update my readers on any pertinent facts about this event as the date approaches for the final day of the FAX attack and then let you know what, if any impact is made by this cry for help by Jobless America.
