To wrap-up Bobby Long’s May news, we could use one word: BUSY. Yes, Bobby Long is busy these days. Very busy. In May, Bobby announced that he signed a record deal with indie label ATO Records. ATO Records was formed by manager Coran Capshaw, Chris Tezeli, Michael McDonald and Dave Matthews (of the Dave Matthews Band) in early 2000. ATO Records, based in New York City, currently distributes its records through RED Distribution. Long has been making his self-financed studio debut under the helm of Grammy Award-winning producer Liam Watson (The White Stripes’ “Elephant.” They began recording at Watson's analog Toe Rag Studios in London during Long's short breaks from his hectic 2009 touring schedule - Bobby played 160 headline shows in seven months in seven countries.)
According to the Courier Times in Philadelphia, British singer-songwriter Bobby Long will play World Café Live in Philadelphia on June 18, as he begins his 2010 Summer Tour with a combination of solo acoustic shows and a series of dates at which he will be backed by a band for the first time since arriving on American shores just over a year ago. Bobby has been working on his recording debut album backed by studio musicians and has been anxious to bring this new dynamic to his live appearances. According to the Times, Bobby is looking forward to giving his hauntingly personal songs added depth and dimension.
His current band is comprised of musicians he met while on a recent short run of U.S. shows.Bobby confirmed that he’s excited about playing with a band on his summer tour and said in a recent interview: "I'm looking at the shows with a band as another chapter in this adventure. I played guitar in a band when I first started performing music, but it was before I wrote my own material. It will be an exciting experience for me to add fresh elements to my songs like I was able to do when I was recording the album."
Throughout May, Bobby was interviewed for several newspapers and online media outlets including the Columbia Daily Tribune in Columbia, Missouri, Pollstar, The Daily Tarheel at the University of North Carolina, Jambase, and jitzul.com. In addition, Bobby was featured on a morning show at WREG-TV in Memphis, Tennessee.

Tickets Are Selling Fast!
According to Bobby’s manager, Phil Taylor, tickets are selling faster than expected for Bobby’s headline USA shows in June and July. In fact, some venues only have a handful of tickets left. Phil advises fans to check venue websites for ticket availability ASAP to be guaranteed entry to the gigs. Bobby will be playing with a full band on the first and last four dates of the tour. All other dates will feature his intimate solo acoustic shows.
Supporting Bobby Long on the first half of his tour, starting June 15 at the New York Highline Ballroom will be London’s Alex Starling. The U.K.’s Trouble Over Tokyo will support Bobby during the second half of his tour, beginning June 28 at 8:00 p.m. at the Firebird in St. Louis, Missouri. Check their MySpace pages at: myspace.com/troubleovertokyo and myspace.com/starlingband for more information.

Dirty Pond Songs CD Wins Critical Acclaim
According to Bobby’s publicist, Sharon Weisz, W3 Public Relations,Bobby's independent CDs, sold exclusively at his shows, have earned critical acclaim of their own. Selections from “Dirty Pond Songs,” the 10-song collection he recorded in his London apartment, have made their way onto AAA radio playlists in the U.S., becoming the catalyst for his inclusion on NPR's "World Café" national broadcast in April and his live performance at the Non-Commercial Radio Conference (Non-Comm) in Philadelphia on June 3.
