May movement idea for young children

See also

May is a month of happy gatherings and delicious treats. A great way to get children up and moving is to have them plan and move through their own May party celebration. Children love to pretend and perform. They can create an imaginary Tea Party and use various nursery rhymes to help them celebrate. Choose some fun Nursery Rhymes to use as creative movement motivators such as: I'm A Little Tea Pot; Hot Cross Buns and Pat-a-cake (hand movements can be done with a partner); Little Miss Muffet; The Muffin Man; etc.
