The third annual Colorado Creative Industries Summit is scheduled for May 1-2. The conference is organized to target such creative attendees as entrepreneurs, emerging artists, municipal/non-profit cultural employees, and district leaders. Programs typically involve how-to's and in-depth approaches to businesses.
The Creative Industries is a division of the Colorado Office for Economic Development and International Trade. It was established in 2010 from a merging of the Council on the Arts and the Art in Public Places with the intent to research and develop the creative potential across the state.
2014's Summit theme is Creative Convergence. Panels will focus on the collective impact of creativity and discuss ways to collaboratively engage a community of Colorado creatives with common goals to coordinate their works.
Early bird registration ends tomorrow ($135), after which the price increases to $150. Student admission is set at $125. All registration fees include the full weekend, meals, and the Governor's Creative Leadership Awards luncheon.
Events take place at the Salida Steamplant, located at 220 W Sackett Ave in Salida, CO. Detailed information about the event, sponsorship, and exhibitor booths can be obtained through Christy Costello.
