May Day literacy fair

On Friday, May 30, 2014, St. James- Santee Elementary will have its first annual May Day Literacy Fair from 12:30- 2:00 in the media center. The school is located at 8900 Highway 17-N, McClellanville, SC.

In the past, it has always been celebrated with only field- day activities. Hopefully, the event will encourage kids to read more.The Wando and Lincoln Community Education as well as, Art Buzz Painting, Charleston County Recycling, Charleston County Public Library Book Mobile, Begin with Books, Mad Science, and Charleston County School District Food Service are aiding in this literacy event.

A graphic novel author, Dave McDonald will host two interactive sessions with the second through sixth graders. He will be talking about his Hamster Sam series.
