April showers bring May flowers! So, it's time to celebrate that spring has sprung with some flower power & friends!

INVITATIONS

  • Add a sticker with party details onto a seed packet
  • Attach invitation to a fresh or silk flower
  • Write the invitation on a clay pot or garden shovel
  • Or, an adorable flower themed invitation from Tiny Prints

DECORATIONS

  • Flowers, flowers and more flowers! Clay pots or posey vases filled with flowers can double as place cards/favors
  • Floral tablecloths
  • Flower pens (wrap a ballpoint pen with green floral tape to attach an silk flower to top) can be tied into napkins as place cards. The pen can then be used for activities at party (or making the pens can be a party craft!)
  • Maypole... complete with ribbons and flowers

TEA PARTY STYLE FOOD

  • Lemonade in floral teapots
  • Mini sandwiches cut with a flower cookie cutter (peanut butter, cream cheese and cucumber, etc) placed on tiered trays
  • Mini fruit kebobs: A long toothpick filled with strawberries, melon balls and pineapple chunks. Or, cut fruit to make fruit flowers
  • Mini cupcakes or petite fore cakes topped with fresh flowers, icing flowers or silk flowers
  • Dirt pudding: Chocolate pudding filled with gummy worms and topped with crushed Oreo cookies

CRAFTS

  • Decorate and plant flowers in small pots (Tip: Can paint pots white before the party, then guests can use permanent markers to decorate easily without as much dry-time!)
  • Decorate glass posey vases with permanent markers, glass paint or acrylic paint
  • Flower pens (directions above in ‘Decorations’)
  • Build birdhouses (Available from Oriental Trading)
  • Decorate straw or cotton sun hats with silk flowers and ribbons
  • Make a wind chime (Available from Oriental Trading)
  • Paint sun catchers (Available from Oriental Trading)

GAMES

  • Scavenger Hunt: Look in the yard or around a neighborhood park for garden related items
  • Memory Tray: Fill a tray with garden related items
  • Plant Match: Present a variety of fresh flowers/plants (or photos), guests match the correct name to each one
  • Hot Flower: Pass the flower until music stops (played like hot potato)
  • Musical Pots: Win a prize and control the music when out of the game (played like musical chairs)

FAVORS

  • Tags: "In the garden of life, friends are the flowers! Thanks for coming to my party" or "Thanks a BUNCH for coming to my party"
  • Flower pens (directions above in ‘Decorations’)
  • Garden tools, garden gloves, mini plants, etc (During Springtime available in many ‘Dollar Bins’)
  • Fill guests’ crafted pots or posey vases with a fresh flower
