  • Philatelists rejoice: the Museum of Russian Art will have guest speaker Dr. Maria Zavialova in to talk about how the former USSR used postage stamps  to promote Communist ideals. Zavialova will be giving two lectures, one on April 30 at 7 pm and another on May 2 at 2 pm. $5 for adults, free to museum members.
  • The Minnesota Textile Center will host Else Sreenivasam, who will discuss Indian textiles and fiber arts in her lecture "India's Traditional Textiles in Transition." Friday, May 1, 7 pm. Admission $5.
  • Come to the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts for the Art in Bloom celebration of spring and floral arts. Free admission.
  • Stop by to see the Nordic Art Glass display at the American Swedish Institute. $6 admission.
  • This is the last weekend to catch Goose Bumps! the Science of Fear exhibition at the Science Museum of Minnesota.
  • Bring your kids to the Children's Museum in Saint Paul to experience Tales from the Gullah, an interactive exhibit about a West African culture that survived slavery. Admission: $8.95, Parking $3.
  • Go to the May Day Program at the Alexander Ramsey House in Saint Paul. Engage in a child-friendly celebration that includes a May Pole and a May Day baskets.
