Max Papis will climb into the No. 14 Chevrolet for NTS Motorsports this weekend as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads north to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for Sunday's Chevrolet Silverado 250. He'll be a teammate to Brennan Newberry and Ron Hornaday.
"I am extremely excited to race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series," Papis said. "As soon as I heard that NASCAR would be racing at this track, I knew I had to do whatever it took to be a part of it. Partnering with a great company like (sponsor) Sport Clips and getting support from KMC Wheels and Chevrolet is fantastic for me."
Sunday's race will be the first race outside the US for the Camping World Truck Series and the series' first race on a road course in several years.
"This weekend will be filled with a lot of firsts -- making the first time that the trucks head over the border, the first time that the drivers have to make left and right turns as they compete at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the first time for NTS Motorsports to wilcome Max to our team along with Ron and Brennan," team owner Bob Newberry said. "It will be a great weekend for our team, and I'm looking forward to competing for NTS' first win with all three teams."
Jeff Stankiewicz will be the crew chief on the No. 14 this weekend. It'll be Papis' first Camping World Truck Series race of the year. Previously, this season, he competed in one Sprint Cup race and three Nationwide Series races, all at road courses. In 2011, Papis was a full-time competitor in the Truck Series, posting a couple of top-10 finishes. In all, he has four top-10 finishes in the trucks.
"I was able to win at this track in 1996 and have enjoyed good results there ever since," Papis said. "Canadian fans are extremely enthusiastic, and I look forward to competing in front of the many fans and friends I have made in Canada throughout my career."
