If asked to name a New England-based jamband, most people would immediately mention Phish, but Connecticut’s own Max Creek have been producing their own unique psychedelically influenced blues/roots/country/rock mix since 1971. Perhaps not quite as popular as they were during their heyday in the late 1980s and early 90s, Max Creek retain a loyal following and are worth checking out by potential new fans.
The band is hitting the road in upcoming weeks with a couple of New England shows (including a date at the legendary Toad’s Place club in New Haven, where the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan have played), as well as a three-show stint in Denver and a 42nd-anniversary show in Port Chester featuring an acoustic set and two full electric sets. More information about tickets and venues is available here.
