EDC weekend in Las Vegas was another very successful weekend for the local economy. While the 2014 financials are not yet totaled, the music event brought to Las Vegas over 400,000 visitors, and a spend generation north of $300MM, based on the estimated $278MM economic stimulus generated by the EDC 2013 music event. Private helicopter company, Maverick Helicopters, the exclusive luxe helicopter transfer company for EDC weekend, enjoyed an increase in flight operations over the weekend as well. Maverick flew over 300 round trips this year, including celebrities, the DJs, and the EDC attendees that wanted to take a helicopter and arrive in style to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Flight operations began around 7:30PM each of the 3 days of EDC weekend. Sunset is when Maverick Helicopters transformed into the BelveAir Lounge. EDC bound helicopter passengers were treated to an EDC-esque reception in the BelveAir Lounge at Maverick Helicopters’ FBO. The BelveAir Lounge at Maverick was sponsored by Marquee Las Vegas, Belvedere Vodka, Red Bull, and hosted by the #BelveAirLounge Hostesses, with music provided by Fans of Jimmy Century drummer, DJ Steve Walker.
The BelveAir Lounge Air Hostesses tended bar, escorted celebrities to the tarmac, posed for photos with virtually any of the attendees that asked. Their uniforms looked to be a sexy take on the Pan Am Airlines flight attendants uniforms.
Notable EDC bound celebrities, Paris Hilton, and Holly Madison each stopped in the BelveAir Lounge at Maverick on their way to the event (See slideshow), and paused for a few photo ops with fans before boarding Mavericks AirBus Eco Star EC130 B-4s. All in all Insomniac, Maverick Helicopters, and (Belvedere/Marquee) did a fantastic job with creating a EDC style reception in the BelveAirLounge at Mavericks FBO for the EDC bound passengers. Local celebrities Alicia Perrone and Victor James of Fans of Jimmy Century had passed through during the weekend.
After the BelveAir Lounge pass through passengers were brought out onto the tarmac for a safety and security briefing with their Maverick pilot. These guys are on the money with every safety issue when it comes to flying. I am sure the passengers all appreciated their pilots’ professionalism and expertise in flying for Maverick Helicopters.
A special thanks to Kirvin Doak Communications, Maverick Helicopters, Fans Of Jimmy Century, and especially the grounds crew staff at Maverick for assisting me to make this all possible,
