Maui's Sea House Restaurant celebrates 50 Years

See also

These days, the life of a restaurant can be fleeting ... but the good ones usually prevail as evidenced by the Sea House, a landmark restaurant situated on West Maui’s crescent-shaped Napili Bay. The restaurant is celebrating its 50th anniversary throughout 2014 with a variety of special offers and pricing, creative anniversary menu items and specialty drinks, and weekly giveaways. The popular beachfront restaurant opened in 1963 as Tea House of the Maui Moon and was renamed Sea House Restaurant in 1985.

As part of the anniversary celebration, a $50 Sea House dining gift certificate will be given away every week and the weekly winners will be entered into a year-end drawing for a romantic Na Hoku (“Under the Stars”) Dinner for two. The Na Hoku Dinner is a private five-course gourmet dinner set outdoors on an oceanfront bluff lit by torchlight, including wine selections matched with each course and a dedicated waitperson. The Na Hoku Dinner is valued at $275 per person. The weekly drawings are open to anyone at least 21 years of age. No purchase is necessary, and entry forms are available at the Sea House Restaurant.

The Sea House, located at Napili Kai Beach Resort, is one of the few truly “beach front” restaurants on the island of Maui. Step out of this restaurant and your feet are literally in the soft, warm sand of Napili Beach. The restaurant is known for its comfortable family-friendly atmosphere with great food and fabulous ocean and sunset views. In recent years, the Sea House's menus have been transformed and revitalized under the direction of Executive Chef Craig Erickson, who joined the staff in 2007. The restaurant was voted "Best Breakfast on Maui” in the 2011 annual culinary awards by Maui's lifestyle magazine, Maui No Ka Oi, and has also received accolades for its sunset “pau hana” happy hour, delicious tapas-style pupus (appetizers), and easygoing island-style ambiance. The restaurant, rated “Excellent” by Zagat, is open daily for breakfast, offering creative, homey, comfort foods with an island twist; lunch, presenting a menu of light and classic American lunch dishes; and dinner, featuring contemporary Hawaiian cuisine.
