Matty Collector today posted a great video on YouTube giving the final specs of their upcoming Castle Grayskull from the Masters of the Universe Classics line. Brand manager Scott "Toy Guru" Neitlich starts off the short clip with the new Grayskull on his desk towering over earlier 2002, and vintage versions. He then goes on to use a measuring tape to give the fans the exact measurements for the castle.
The Castle will measure 23.5 inches from base to the top of the tower. From the base to the pawn at the top of the castle measures 24 inches. The top of the front gate stands 8 inches from the ground when closed and 7 inches when the drawbridge is open. The front of the castle has ended up at a massive 15 inches across.
Fan reaction to the prototype’s reveal has been mixed on He-man.org. Some people who had already placed pre-orders are unhappy that the final product varies slightly from what was originally proposed. While that may be the case, most fans seem to be thrilled with the size and detailed sculpt. It was previously announced that cancellations will be allowed for any that wish to do so.
Pre-orders based on the designer’s blueprints had been taken late last year at a cost of $250 for the giant play set. Matty Collector has reopened pre-orders through Mar. 3, but at an increased cost of $275. After that deadline fans will have to wait until Castle Grayskull’s release to attempt to buy any leftover product at an even higher price.
