Who would have thought Matthew McConaughey would reprise a role just for a music video? Well, the famous actor did and the character Wooderson from Richard Linklater's 1993 film Dazed and Confused returns in the music video of Synthesizers by Butch Walker and the Black Widows. Since Monday over 40,000 people have viewed the video comparing the character in the latest flick to the character in the movie.
While the introduction to the song Synthesizers might be shadowed by Matthew McConaughey’s performance, fans of the music and the actor are coming together to reflect on the brilliance of the idea. Combining one of films iconic characters with the song that would have been perfect for the film, had to be a scheduling nightmare but a stroke of creative genius.
The fans are weighing in with the idea and they appear to appreciate the daunting task of bringing back a character and keeping it true to the movie. Comments from the video are all of the same theme as the fans like the combination. “I love this video and tune! Good job all round,” writes one fan and another says “This video makes me endlessly happy!”
