Matthew McConaughey saved a baby seal that was on a beach in Malibu being taunted by a group of kids. According to The Times of India, the "Dallas Buyers Club" actor was surfing at the time of the incident. He spotted the seal pup sunning on the beach and a group of kids were poking the animals with sticks. McConaughey got out of the water and told the kids that the seal was not dead or injured and that they shouldn't be bothering it.
After his beach trip, McConaughey headed to Austin, Texas with his wife, Camila, and their three children, Levi, Vida, and Livingston. According to People Magazine, McConaughey was on-hand for a two-day event in Austin: The Mack, Jack & McConaughey fundraiser. This was the second annual charity event that McConaughey joined together with Jack Ingram and football coach Mack Brown to raise money for local children's charities.
When Matthew McConaughey is not saving baby seals, he's doing good for mankind -- what a guy! Interestingly enough, the public might be seeing more of Mr. McConaughey in Texas. Camila told People Magazine that she'd like to send her children to school in Texas.
"It's possible that we do that, that the kids grow up here and go to school. It's different here than in other places, and we really like it. It's more relaxed and easy here. It's our home and we love it. It feels so good to be back here with out good friends and family," Camila said.
Matthew McConaughey won't see baby seals in Austin... but having his kids attend school away from Hollywood might be worth it.
